Yes, I WILL go back in my black silk skirt that I bought in Saks in New York (love it!) and a little glam top. And then we'll SEE who's nice! I might just go back into the same restaurant, make an obvious scene of looking at the menu, then shaking my head like it's not up to my standards! So, THERE! Then cache on down to the Hotel Carlton for a glass of wine on their outside cafe. That’s funny, Nancy! I think you're right, the waiters knew exactly what they were doing when they took your order and pretended not to speak or understand english (the french are not known for their sense of humor ... are they not the ones who think MIMES are funny and entertaining?) Enough said!!!!! ... also ... why do you think americans have come come up with the term, french bastards?!!! HMPH!!! It's nice though that you did not let it ruin your Cannes experience. It still sounded like a wonderful day. You'll have to report back to us when you go back dressed more chic ... perhaps this time your fish will be served gutted and not sneering at you with those beady french eyes!
